S-Tier

No surprises here—Beryl, Gloria, Inanna, and Col are prime targets for rerolling to kickstart your game with a bang. Beryl and Col stand out as top DPS characters, with Beryl's edge coming from her Destroyer-type advantage over all but Watcher types.

Col, however, excels as a rogue, capable of devastating sneak attacks. Her ability to act again after a side or rear kill means stacking her with attack and crit rate gear is crucial.

Gloria and Inanna shine as the game's premier support characters. Gloria can double as a high-damage dealer, her Flag buffs and knockback capabilities make her a versatile asset. Inanna, on the other hand, is the go-to dedicated healer, whose longevity is secured by her ability to summon the Guard of the Princess—a controllable tank that can absorb hits and aid in meeting battle objectives.

Edda, added to the global version, is a strong support for magical teams, excelling in debuffing and easing Legendary weapon farming in Weaponry Trial I.

Cocoa, introduced in September 2024, is the ideal tank to replace Maitha, offering substantial utility through heals, buffs, and debuffs, even at one star.

Saffiyah and Auguste are known as game-changers from the CN and TW versions. Saffiyah's versatility as a Seeker, with her ability to summon minions, heal, and deal damage without taking hits, is unmatched. Auguste is the go-to auto-play character, especially as the strongest Breaker-type DPS, making both essential pulls for any team composition.

A-Tier

Dantalion and Magnus are formidable on their own, but together, they create a synergistic powerhouse with their attack buffs, perfect for tackling PvE stages. Magnus is a valuable tank, especially if Cocoa is out of reach.

Dantalion's strength grows as battles progress, his kit focused on boosting his offensive and defensive stats, making him a reliable last stand.

Nonowill is an excellent support, offering both buffs and debuffs while maintaining high mobility across the battlefield.

Simona, added in late August 2024, is a battlemage adept at freezing and slowing enemies while dealing significant close-range damage, a great addition to magic-based teams alongside Edda.

Rawiyah (Alt) and Saffiyah (Alt) are strong alternatives. Rawiyah (Alt) brings enhanced utility and high damage, including AoE capabilities and self-healing, while Saffiyah (Alt) provides top-tier debuffing alongside minor buffs and damage.

B-Tier

Maitha stands out as a versatile unit, serving as an effective tank with additional damage and healing capabilities. She's a solid starter, though likely to be replaced by stronger tanks like Magnus or Cocoa.

Rawiyah is another strong early game pick, focusing on DPS with AoE capabilities and self-healing, helping you progress through initial levels.

C-Tier

Even at the bottom of the Legendary tier, these characters aren't bad; they're just less efficient. Teadon, for instance, offers solid tanking with high defense and frontline resilience. Most will serve well in early stages but are typically replaced by higher-tier pulls.

Best Epic Characters to Invest In

sword of convallaria tier list for epic characters

Not everyone will snag S-tier units right away, but there are plenty of powerful Epic characters to fill your party in the interim, some of which can carry you through to the endgame.

Here are our top Epic character picks:

RoleCharacter
RogueCrimson Falcon
DPSTempest, Stormbreaker
MageDarklight Ice Priest, Abyss, Butterfly
TankSuppression
HealerAngel

Crimson Falcon has been a game-changer for many, including myself, until I secured Col. Her solid damage output, mobility, and frequent Memory Shard drops make her an easy character to max out.

Tempest and Stormbreaker are reliable DPS choices if you haven't yet obtained Gloria. For mage roles, consider Darklight Ice Priest (a Rare character) and Abyss, both effective in their unique ways. Darklight Ice Priest offers ranged ice damage and slows enemies, while Butterfly, more of a utility character akin to Fire Emblem's Dancer, provides small heals and positional support.

For tanking and healing, Suppression and Angel are top picks. Suppression is a solid choice unless you're already committed to Maitha, while Angel's strong healing capabilities make her an essential pick if you lack Inanna.
