Akatsuki Games has recently announced the End of Service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine. It's hard to fathom, considering the game only launched on Android, iOS, and PC (via Steam) back in February. The rapid decision to end its run has left many wondering what led to this early demise. Let's delve into the details.
When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?
Tribe Nine is scheduled to shut down on November 27th, 2025. Alongside this disheartening news, Akatsuki Games confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not see the light of day. This comes right after the game teased significant plot developments, leaving fans disappointed.
As of May 15th, all future updates, including new features, bug fixes, and content releases, have been canceled. The previously announced in-game adjustments and new features are no longer happening.
Unfortunately, two characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the roster, will not be added.
Refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items such as Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio. These refunds will be processed once the Revenio contract concludes.
Purchases of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes are now disabled across both the app and web store. However, players can continue to use their existing Enigma Entities until Tribe Nine's official shutdown.
Why Did It Fail, So Soon?
Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG known for its distinctive style and worldbuilding. Despite its quality, the game struggled from the outset.
A major issue was the slow release schedule, with only one story chapter and one event released over three months. Additionally, the game lacked incentives for player spending. Players could easily assemble a competitive team with a single pull, and duplicate characters were not necessary, which, while beneficial for players, didn't help the developers' revenue model.
It appears that Tribe Nine's decision to adopt a gacha system was a risky move that ultimately didn't succeed. Nevertheless, the game remains playable until November 27th, so if you're curious, you can still check it out on the Google Play Store.
