Uncover the Depths: Explore the Sci-fi Enigma in Stalker 2's Hidden Quest

by Finn Feb 11,2025

In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players can embark on the "For Science!" side quest, a relatively short but rewarding mission. This guide outlines how to initiate and complete this quest.

Initiating "For Science!"

The quest begins at the Central Elevator in the Chemical Plant. Near this location, Yaryk Mongoose will contact Skif via radio. Locate Mongoose on the first floor of the building (accessible by climbing rusted stairs and vaulting a railing). He'll explain the need to activate a second measuring device atop a silo. Agreeing to his request starts the mission.

Reaching the Silo's Summit

Ascend to the building's roof, eliminating any rodents along the way. Exit through a broken window, descend a ladder, and traverse the walkways to the silo. Be prepared for electro anomalies; equip appropriate gear. Activate the measuring device at the silo's top. This will attract a group of Bloodsuckers.

Confronting Mongoose

Return to Mongoose. He'll explain the unforeseen consequences of the experiment. Players can choose to kill Mongoose or accept his reward (the Malachite Pass and coupons). Neither choice significantly impacts the game's progression. Choosing the non-hostile option is generally recommended. The Malachite Pass grants access to the STC Malachite facility, unless already obtained through the main storyline.

The "For Science!" side quest in Stalker 2 offers a concise yet engaging experience, providing players with valuable rewards and a glimpse into the game's world.
