Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series by letting fans vote on the next official merchandise items! A whopping 100 options are available, with the top two vote-getters slated for release within the next two years. The poll is currently only available in Japanese, but voting can be done on the official website.
The choices range from the expected (like a 20th-anniversary hoodie or pencil case) to the utterly bizarre, drawing inspiration from the series' famously outlandish moments.
Among the more unusual options are Munan Suzuki's cult outfit from Yakuza 0, the giant traffic cone from Yakuza Kiwami, and the intriguingly named "Puffy Gold Pants." Other items include Majima's sake cup from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6, Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prison uniform from Yakuza 4.
2025 marks not only the 20th anniversary but also the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate of the Caribbean on February 21st. While a second release this year remains unconfirmed, RGG Studio's prolific output in recent years – nine games in the last five years alone – suggests it's not entirely out of the question. Their history of celebrating milestones with significant releases (like Yakuza 0 for the 10th anniversary) makes this a highly anticipated event for fans.
