High-end prebuilt PCs often come with hefty price tags, but savvy shoppers can snag incredible deals that save hundreds of dollars. Currently, Dell is offering a spectacular deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 with a GeForce RTX 4090 gaming PC, now priced at just $2,899.99 after a whopping $1,000 instant discount. This is the first time in months that an RTX 4090 gaming PC has been available for under $3,000. With the prices of standalone RTX 4090 graphics cards on the rise, costing at least $2,000 from reputable vendors, building your own PC might not be as cost-effective as you think. Opting for a prebuilt PC also gives you the benefit of an all-inclusive warranty, adding peace of mind to your purchase.

Originally priced at $3,699.99, now save 22% and get it for $2,899.99 at Alienware. This powerhouse features an Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, a GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 2TB NVMe SSD. The 14th gen Intel Core i9-14900KF is currently the top Intel gaming CPU and excels in productivity tasks too. Despite its tendency to run hot, it's effectively cooled by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. The system is powered by a reliable 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.
The RTX 4090 stands as the most powerful GPU available, outshining all competitors from both NVIDIA and AMD. In his review, Chris Coke states, "The RTX 4090 may be huge and expensive, but holy smokes if it doesn’t blow the competition out of the water... Until the rest of the pack can catch up, between its impressive hardware specs and its DLSS 3 AI wizardry, even the $1,599 price doesn’t seem unreasonable for the unrivaled frame rates that this card can crank out." With this GPU, you can enjoy any game at 4K resolution with ultra settings and ray tracing enabled, achieving high frame rates even in the most demanding new titles like Black Myth: Wukong or Warhammer Space Marine 2. Additionally, the RTX 4090 is the preferred consumer card for AI applications, thanks to its 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM.
A note on RTX 5000 series GPUs
NVIDIA's next generation of GPUs, the RTX 5000 series, is set to launch at the end of January. The RTX 5090 is expected to be more powerful, but at a steep price of $2,000 for the Founder's Edition, and availability might be limited. The RTX 5080 is slated to launch at $999, but it may also face availability issues. We'll soon benchmark this card, but it will come with less VRAM (16GB) compared to the 4090's 24GB and might not immediately overtake the 4090's position.
A note on Alienware's newest "R16" desktop chassis
The R16 represents Alienware's 2024 desktop design, boasting a 40% smaller volume than its predecessors. It employs an efficient airflow pattern, drawing air in through side intake vents over the GPU and a 120mm front fan, with exhaust facilitated by a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. The 240mm radiator for the all-in-one liquid cooling system is mounted to the top fans. While some configurations might not include liquid cooling, we recommend opting for it, as Alienware's liquid cooling solution significantly outperforms their standard air cooling and justifies the extra cost. Note that during CES 2025, Dell introduced a new Area 51 chassis, which closely resembles the R16 in design and appearance.
