To celebrate, SuperPlanet has announced an exciting collaboration with the beloved South Korean webtoon series, The Sound of Your Heart. This epic comedic crossover, dubbed Boomerang RPG: Watch Out Dude x The Sound of Your Heart, promises to bring a fresh wave of laughter and adventure to the game.
For those unfamiliar, The Sound of Your Heart is a creation of Jo Seok, chronicling his hilarious misadventures and those of his quirky family. Launched on Naver Webtoon in 2006, it became the longest-running webtoon, concluding in July 2020. With over 7 billion views, its popularity soared, even leading to a Netflix adaptation featuring comedy and animation.
Who’s Joining The Boomerang RPG: Watch Out Dude x The Sound Of Your Heart Crossover?
The collaboration introduces iconic characters from the webtoon, each with their unique traits. You'll encounter Jo Seok, the protagonist, alongside his formidable wife Aebong, who's known for her no-nonsense approach, including occasionally disciplining Jo Seok. Also joining the fray are Jjaeddanyo, the endearing father-in-law, and Buuk Suh, Jo’s friend who is part flower and sheds petals when low on health.
In this event, players embark on a mission to rescue Aebong, Jjaeddanyo, and Buuk Suh from the dungeon. Successfully clearing the town dungeons will allow these characters to join your team, ready to take on enemies. However, the challenge doesn't end there. Aebong's evil alter-ego, Dark Aebong, awaits as the final boss. Her animations, directly inspired by the comic, showcase her fiery reactions to Jo Seok's antics, making for an entertaining battle. During the 21-Day Attendance Event, players can acquire the collaboration characters for free. The event also introduces limited-edition boomerangs, including a drumstick, a golf club, a hair dryer, and a stylus, adding a fun twist to the gameplay. Additionally, the Token Event allows players to collect tokens resembling kimchi, tomato, noodles, and chicken, which can be exchanged for unique magic effects or legendary boomerangs.
