In the eagerly awaited cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, fans of From Software's notorious poisonous swamps will be in for a surprise. According to Yasuhiro Kitao, the project's product manager, these iconic swamp areas, a hallmark of From Software titles, will not feature in *Elden Ring Nightreign*. This revelation came during a candid conversation with journalists.
While a swamp-like location did appear in the game's trailer, Kitao clarified that it's an entirely different setting. The absence of the poisonous swamps is attributed to the lack of involvement from Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software and a renowned enthusiast of such environments. Miyazaki's passion for swampy locales has been evident in previous titles like *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series, but he did not participate in the development of *Elden Ring Nightreign*.

In other exciting news, *Elden Ring Nightreign* may introduce a new two-player mode. Although the developers have officially announced one-player and three-player modes, citing content balancing challenges as the reason for excluding a two-player option, there is now a possibility that this could change. From Software is currently considering adding a two-player mode, though no final decision has been confirmed yet.
Mark your calendars—*Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC and across two generations of consoles.
