Sony and Santa Monica Studio have unveiled the Dark Odyssey collection, a free update for God of War Ragnarök arriving next week. This update features in-game equipment themed after one of the franchise's most iconic outfits.
Detailed in a PlayStation Blog post, the Dark Odyssey collection is a highlight of Sony's God of War 20th-anniversary celebrations. Available for free on PlayStation 5 and PC starting March 20th, it offers a stylish black-and-gold cosmetic overhaul for God of War Ragnarök players. Atreus and Freya receive new cosmetic sets, along with various weapons and shields.
The centerpiece is a Dark Odyssey appearance and armor set for Kratos, reminiscent of a skin previously only obtainable by beating God of War II on God Mode. Players can acquire this content from any Lost Items chest in the main game or immediately within Ragnarök's Valhalla mode after the update. The patch also introduces the ability to customize Kratos' weapon appearances without affecting their abilities.

"On behalf of everyone at Santa Monica Studio, we are immeasurably grateful to have had the chance to build the legacy of this series with and for you, the fans of God of War," the studio stated.
