Insomniac Games, renowned for the beloved Ratchet and Clank franchise, is actively exploring more opportunities to bring their video games to the screen. Co-Studio Head Ryan Schneider shared this vision during an interview with Variety, following the announcement of founder and CEO Ted Price's retirement. Schneider highlighted the studio's enthusiasm for game-to-screen adaptations, particularly noting their previous venture with the Ratchet and Clank film in 2016.
"I think back to the Ratchet and Clank film from several years ago. And we kind of got an early start on that. So, of course, we’re interested in that kind of thing. We love Ratchet and Clank in particular," Schneider remarked.
The 2016 Ratchet and Clank movie received mixed reviews, but with Insomniac's acquisition by Sony in 2019, the studio feels optimistic about their future in film and television. Sony's track record with successful adaptations like The Last of Us, which received widespread acclaim, further bolsters Insomniac's confidence in their upcoming projects.

Insomniac Founder and CEO Ted Price Retires After 30 Years
In a significant transition for the studio, Insomniac's founder and CEO, Ted Price, announced his retirement after an illustrious 30-year career. Price, who has been instrumental in creating iconic franchises such as Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank, and Marvel's Spider-Man, shared his thoughts on stepping down:
"I actually made this decision last year. For me, after over 30 years of leading Insomniac, I felt it was simply time to step aside and let others pave the way for our team."
Leadership of Insomniac Games will now be shared by three seasoned veterans: Ryan Schneider, Chad Dezern, and Jen Huang. Price emphasized the importance of this transition, stating, "I believe strongly that for us to continue our success, we need leaders at the top who are intimately familiar with how we do things, leaders who have helped build our culture and our processes, and who have earned people’s trust."
