LEGO has unveiled its largest Jurassic World set yet: a colossal T-Rex skeleton stretching over three feet long! This impressive build includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film, where this very skeleton makes its memorable appearance in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, this detailed set will be available on the LEGO Store starting March 12th for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here!), and March 15th for everyone else.

LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex
- Price: $249.99 at the LEGO Store
- Release Date: March 15th (March 12th for Insiders)
- Pieces: 3,145
- Ages: 18+
- Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
This 3,145-piece set is designed for adult builders (18+), making it a stunning display piece rather than a playset. The advanced building techniques may prove challenging for younger builders. Its impressive scale is difficult to fully appreciate from images alone. The inclusion of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler minifigures provides a helpful sense of proportion, but the finished skeleton truly measures over three feet in length. The skull is strikingly similar to the currently available LEGO T-Rex skull (a set my son built and highly recommends!), but the complete skeleton elevates the overall impact significantly.

The skeleton boasts articulated joints, allowing for dynamic posing. The head moves, the jaw opens, and the arms and tail are fully posable. Like many movie-themed LEGO sets, it incorporates several fun Easter eggs to discover during construction. A display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-Rex's diet, habitat, and other fascinating facts are also included.

While LEGO's Jurassic World collection may not yet rival the scale of its Star Wars or Harry Potter lines, it's rapidly expanding. The inclusion of adult-oriented sets like this impressive T-Rex skeleton is a welcome addition, and I, for one, eagerly anticipate more such offerings in the future.
