Midnight Society, the game studio co-founded by streamer Guy "Dr. Disrespect" Beahm, has announced its closure and the cancellation of its upcoming FPS game, Deadrop.
In an X post, the studio stated, "Today we are announcing Midnight Society will be closing its doors after three incredible years, with an amazing team of over 55 developers." The announcement included a plea for employment opportunities for its team members.
Founded by Beahm, along with Call of Duty and Halo veterans Robert Bowling and Quinn Delhoy, Midnight Society aimed to deliver Deadrop, a free-to-play FPS leveraging the team's extensive experience. While targeting a 2024 release, the game ultimately missed its mark.

Following Beahm's departure from Midnight Society in 2024—after revelations of inappropriate messages exchanged with a minor via Twitch Whispers—development continued on Deadrop until its recent shutdown.
The game was set in a stylized, alternate 1980s universe, as depicted in concept art showcasing characters in Daft Punk-esque helmets wielding firearms and melee weapons. Gameplay was planned as a PvPvE extraction shooter.
Midnight Society's closure adds to the growing list of studios impacted by the current challenging climate in the games industry, joining companies like Ubisoft, BioWare, and Phoenix Labs, among many others, that have faced layoffs or closure.
