Mortal Kombat 1 has unveiled two exciting videos back-to-back. Yesterday's esports trailer offered a tantalizing glimpse of the T-1000, though the Terminator isn't the next fighter joining the roster. Conan the Barbarian, however, will be playable next week for premium edition owners, with today's release of his gameplay trailer showcasing the iconic character in action.
Conan embodies the classic big-body brute archetype. His powerful attacks suggest significant damage output, though his lack of agility and speed might be offset by an extended sword range. A clash between Conan and characters like General Shao, Omni-Man, and Homelander would certainly be a spectacle to behold.
While visually capturing the essence of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Conan's fatality lacks the explosive impact of some other Mortal Kombat 1 finishers. The acid-drowning sequence, while effective, feels somewhat underwhelming in terms of visual flair. However, enjoyable gameplay is more than just a spectacular finishing move, and Conan promises a unique fighting experience.
Premium edition owners can unleash the Cimmerian next Tuesday, while everyone else will need to wait until January 28th.
