"Rivals Update 9: Gunblade, Bridge Map Added; Ranked Mode Incoming"

by Ryan May 25,2025

The first-person shooter PvP experience on Roblox, Rivals, has just rolled out its latest Update 9, introducing the innovative Gunblade weapon and the new Bridge map to its ever-expanding content library. Developer Nosniy Games shared detailed patch notes for this update, highlighting the key additions while keeping the update relatively light compared to previous ones. Despite its size, this update is set to keep players engaged as the team continues to plan future enhancements.

Rivals has always been a hit among FPS enthusiasts, largely due to its dynamic gameplay and impressive arsenal. The Gunblade is a perfect fit, offering players a versatile weapon that combines the precision of a rifle with the power of a melee blade. This dual-purpose weapon could be a game-changer, especially on the newly introduced Bridge map. Set in Seoul and crafted by creator @GreatGuyBoom, this map is designed for intense close-quarters combat, featuring minimal cover with just a few concrete walls and a bus to navigate. The compact, suspended arena promises to deliver thrilling encounters from the moment players step in.

Rivals Update 9 adds the Gunblade to the Roblox FPS experience's arsenal.

While the Rivals Update 9 patch notes focus primarily on the new map and weapon, they notably exclude any specific mentions of bug fixes, balance adjustments, or quality-of-life improvements. Nosniy Games explained their choice to concentrate on the new content, although they did make minor modifications to the skins of the Demon Shorty and Demon Uzi, and renamed several other items. The team has assured fans that these changes, along with other requested improvements, will be addressed in the upcoming major content update, which will finally introduce the much-anticipated Ranked mode.

"We hear all of your feedback and want to reassure you all that every necessary & additional changes/improvements will be made in time for Ranked," the developers stated, signaling their commitment to enhancing the game based on community input.

Since its launch last May, Rivals has consistently delivered engaging updates, such as Update 7, which introduced the Energy Rifle, Energy Pistols, and Crossbow, among other additions.
