Known Habitats: Ruins of Wyveria

Breakable Parts: Head, Tail, and Legs

Recommended Elemental Attack: Water

Effective Status Effects: Poison (2x), Sleep (2x), Paralysis (3x), Blastblight (2x), Stun (2x), Exhaust (-)

Effective Items: Pitfall Trap, Shock Trap, Flash Pod

Stun the Monster

The speed of Ebony Odogaron is its most formidable attribute, making it a challenging foe. To counter its agility, stunning the monster is crucial. You can trigger a nearby Flashfly to temporarily immobilize it, or craft Flash Pods for additional stuns during the fight.

Bring Teammates

Tackling Ebony Odogaron solo can be overwhelming due to its relentless attacks. To mitigate this, consider sending out SOS signals to recruit teammates. If no players respond, NPCs can serve as effective distractions, allowing you to dodge and reposition safely.

Pull Down Entangled Rocks

During the battle, you'll encounter an area with Entangled Rocks hanging above. Use your slinger to bring them down, which will stun Ebony Odogaron for a few precious seconds. This tactic can only be used once per fight, but you can supplement it with Pitfall and Shock Traps for two more immobilization opportunities.

Beware of Dragonblight

Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which neutralizes your elemental and status effect damage. To counteract this, carry Nulberries to cure the ailment or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance.

Inflict Paralysis

Paralysis is highly effective against Ebony Odogaron, as it immobilizes the monster temporarily, giving you a window to deal significant damage. If the beast is knocked down near roots, it may become further entangled, extending your attack time.

Aim for the Head

The head is Ebony Odogaron's most vulnerable spot, rated at a 3-star weakness. Attacking this area maximizes damage output, though it places you in harm's way. Alternatively, targeting the forelegs and tail can be safer, potentially breaking these parts and weakening the monster.

Capturing Ebony Odogaron requires reducing its health to 20 percent or below before deploying a Pitfall or Shock Trap. Once trapped, use a tranquilizer to subdue the beast. If the monster's health is too high, the tranquilizer won't work, and it will break free, forcing you to continue the fight.

Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
