Exploring the World of Miraland
Launching December 4th (EST/PST), Infinity Nikki's 25-minute documentary offers an intimate look at the years of development, featuring interviews with key team members. The project began in December 2019, born from a desire to create an open-world adventure for Nikki, the beloved character of the Nikki series. The team worked secretly for over a year, laying the groundwork for this ambitious project. Game designer Sha Dingyu describes the unique challenge of integrating the core dress-up mechanics of the Nikki IP into an open-world environment, a process that required building a framework from the ground up.
The documentary highlights the team's commitment to evolving the Nikki franchise, moving beyond mobile games (the series started with NikkuUp2U in 2012) to a new level of technological and product advancement. The producer's dedication is even evident in a clay model of the Grand Millewish Tree, symbolizing the passion poured into the game's creation. The video showcases the vibrant world of Miraland, focusing on the Grand Millewish Tree and its inhabitants, including the Faewish Sprites and lively NPCs with their own daily routines. Game designer Xiao Li emphasizes the realism brought to life by the NPCs' dynamic behavior, even amidst Nikki's ongoing missions.
A Team of Industry Titans
The game's stunning visuals are a testament to the exceptional talent behind Infinity Nikki. In addition to the core Nikki series team, the developers recruited experienced international talent. Kentaro "Tomiken" Tominaga, Lead Sub Director and veteran of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and concept artist Andrzej Dybowski, whose work graced The Witcher 3, are among the notable additions.
Since the project's official start on December 28th, 2019, the team has dedicated nearly 1815 days to bringing Infinity Nikki to life. The anticipation is palpable as the launch date approaches. Prepare to embark on a magical journey through Miraland with Nikki and Momo this December!
