The journey of Daredevil: Born Again from script to screen involved numerous adjustments and rewrites, but it turns out one episode remained completely unchanged: Episode 5. Interestingly, this particular episode is star Charlie Cox's least favorite of the entire season.
"I'm not sure if this is interesting, but I will say that among all the changes, one episode was left untouched," Cox revealed in a recent interview with The Playlist.
"It's the bank episode, which was part of our original filming before the strike. That episode came from the initial draft, and personally, I wasn't a fan."
Cox told the outlet that he "resisted it as much as I felt was reasonable." The episode features his character Matt Murdock (also known as Daredevil) getting caught in a bank robbery while attempting to secure a loan for the law firm he runs with partners Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll).
"That premise feels like a 1970s game," Cox shared about his thoughts on the episode. "With today's technology, that scenario wouldn't really work. I also didn't think the method used for the theft was sophisticated enough."

Despite his personal reservations, the actor acknowledged that fans seemed to genuinely enjoy the episode.
"I really opposed this episode, yet I keep hearing from many people how much they loved it. It just shows how subjective these things are," Cox added. "Everyone's taste differs. I've heard this episode received some of the highest internal ratings at Disney for their shows."
We certainly enjoyed Episode 5. In our Daredevil: Born Again Episodes 5 and 6 Review, we noted: "The execution is flawless. I can't recall the last time a Marvel series kept me smiling throughout an entire episode and completely engaged from beginning to end. This episode also accomplishes something crucial given Daredevil's limited screen time: it demonstrates what makes Matt Murdock such a unique and remarkable hero, even when he's not in costume."
