Dawnwalker's Blood Emerges as New RPG from CDPR Veterans

Rebel Wolves, a studio established by former CD Projekt RED developers, recently unveiled their debut title, The Blood of Dawnwalker, in a captivating livestream. The stream featured a four-minute cinematic trailer, serving as the game's opening cinematic and setting the stage for the dark fantasy action RPG.

Set in a 14th-century alternate Europe, The Blood of Dawnwalker follows Coen, a young man who acquires supernatural abilities after the events depicted in the trailer. His mission: rescue his loved ones from a vampire threat within a strict 30-day deadline. While time progresses only during specific gameplay sections, strategic time management is crucial.

Coen faces a compelling moral conflict—embracing his humanity or succumbing to his vampiric nature. This choice significantly impacts both gameplay mechanics and the narrative's progression. A core mechanic, Blood Hunger, adds another layer of challenge. Prolonged abstinence from blood threatens Coen's control, potentially leading to accidental killings and unforeseen consequences.

Players will navigate richly detailed environments, with dynamic changes influenced by the time of day. The developers describe the open world as a "narrative sandbox," offering extensive freedom and opportunities for player agency.

Developed over two years using Unreal Engine 5, The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A specific release date remains unannounced.
