Get Your Pet

Embark on your journey in Diablo 4 Season 7 by heading to the nearest town with a Wardrobe. Interact with it to acquire your pet. While pets don't participate in combat, they're invaluable for automatically collecting gold and materials, saving you precious time so you can focus on slaying enemies and amassing loot.

Grab Your Mercenaries

If you own the Vessel of Hatred expansion, make your way to the Den to recruit a Mercenary. Solo players can enlist up to two Mercenaries, significantly easing the leveling process and enhancing combat. Building Rapport with your Mercenaries also unlocks additional rewards, making them a vital part of your journey.

Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up

Begin on Normal difficulty and follow the seasonal questline, identifiable by green leaf icons on your map. This questline introduces you to the season's new mechanics, including Headhunt zones and the collection of Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, alongside the intriguing new Witch powers. The questline is brief but peppered with puzzles, primarily requiring you to farm Favors in Headhunt zones.

This approach is also the fastest route to reaching level 60. Focus on defeating bosses in Headhunt zones, collecting Favors, and upgrading your Witch powers simultaneously.

Unlock Your Class Power

A handy quality-of-life update means you no longer need to repeat class-specific priority quests if you've completed them on another character. Simply log into the Eternal realm with that character first. For example, if you're planning to play a Rogue in Season 7, log in with a previously created Rogue that has finished these quests. Then, when you start with your new Season 7 Rogue, your class power will unlock automatically upon reaching the requisite level.

Headhunt Zones

While navigating Headhunt zones, ensure you're actively completing Whispers. With four zones always active, choose the smallest, densest ones for higher enemy concentrations, allowing for quicker mob farming and Whisper completion. Prioritize these two Whisper quests:

  • Fugitive: Involves recovering a head or destroying a husk, activated by defeating Elites and interacting with roots.
  • Shepherd: An easier task, requiring you to escort animals around the map.

Upon accumulating 10 Grim Favors, exchange them at the Tree of Whispers for a cache. Alternatively, locate the Raven of the Tree in each Headhunt zone to turn in your Favors without needing to return to the Tree.

Witchcraft Powers

At the Tree of Whispers, interact with the Altars of Witchcraft to buy and enhance your Witchcraft powers using Restless Rot, obtained from defeating new Rot enemies. While the initial purchase is affordable, upgrades are costly. Prioritize powers that boost your damage output for efficient gameplay.

Some Witch powers are exclusive to Forgotten Altars, which you might encounter in regular dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds from Torment 1 difficulty onward. Enhance your chances of finding these altars by consuming a Draught of Whispers.

Rootholds

Introduced in Season 7, Rootholds are a new dungeon type accessible via Whispering Woods, earned through Whispers and Silent Chests. Rootholds mimic rogue-lite modes like Infernal Hordes, where you can activate negative modifiers to enhance loot quality. As you progress, open Exposed Roots for loot, with modifiers affecting the quantity and quality of these finds.

Save your Roothold keys for Torment 1 difficulty, as they're your prime source of Ancestral loot this season.

Occult Gems

Later in the game, you can craft Occult Gems by speaking with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers. These gems, when slotted into your jewelry, outperform regular gems. Crafting them is expensive, requiring Restless Rot and Heads, which drop from Roothold bosses and Fugitives in Headhunt zones. Boost your chances of obtaining Heads by using a Draught of Whispers.

Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons

Don't forget to integrate Pits and Nightmare Dungeons into your routine. Nightmare Dungeons are your source of Glyphs, while Pits are essential for leveling them up. Additionally, farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials to enhance your Uniques.
