LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has unveiled ambitious plans for the company's future, focusing on a significant expansion into the digital realm through the development of video games. This strategic move includes the creation of new titles, both independently and in collaboration with other developers, showcasing LEGO's commitment to engaging children and adults alike across various platforms.
"We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing," stated Niels Christiansen.
This expansion into gaming does not mean LEGO will cease licensing its brand to third-party developers. Just last month, journalist Jason Schreier reported that TT Games, renowned for its LEGO-themed titles, is currently developing a new LEGO game, likely connected to one of Warner Bros.' popular franchises.

Currently, LEGO's most notable venture in the gaming world is its ongoing collaboration with Epic Games. Last year, Fortnite introduced a LEGO-themed mode, which swiftly became one of the game's most popular features. This partnership highlights LEGO's ability to seamlessly blend digital and physical play experiences.
Over the past two decades, LEGO has been closely associated with the adventure game series developed by TT Games. Although new projects have been relatively quiet lately, rumors are circulating about a potential LEGO Harry Potter game, inspired by the commercial success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Furthermore, LEGO's partnership with 2K Games resulted in the release of LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game launched last year. This title further demonstrates the brand's versatility and commitment to exploring new genres within the gaming industry.
