Monster Hunter Wilds: Capcom's Fastest-Selling Game
Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) has officially claimed the title of Capcom's fastest-selling game, surpassing 8 million units sold in a mere three days. Capcom proudly announced this milestone on their website, highlighting the game's unprecedented success.
Prior to this announcement, SteamDB data revealed MH Wilds' impressive launch, boasting over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam alone, despite mixed initial reviews. Capcom attributes this triumph to a comprehensive marketing strategy, including prominent appearances at major gaming events worldwide and a successful open beta test that allowed players to experience the game firsthand.
Latest Update Addresses Game-Breaking Bugs
MH Wilds recently addressed several critical bugs that hindered player progress. On March 4th, 2025, Monster Hunter's official support account, Monster Hunter Status, announced via Twitter (X) the release of hotfix patch Ver.1.000.04.00 across all platforms.
This crucial update resolved issues such as the inability to unlock "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features, inaccessibility of the Monster Field Guide, and most importantly, a game-breaking bug that stalled story progression in Chapter 5-2, "A World Turned Upside Down." Players are now required to update the game to continue online play.
While this patch significantly improved the experience, some bugs remain unresolved. These include a network error triggered by SOS flares after quest initiation, and issues with Palico's blunt weapon attacks failing to inflict stun and exhaust damage. These primarily multiplayer-related bugs are slated for resolution in a future patch.
