Capcom has announced an extension for the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN) that disrupted the previous test session. The PSN went offline around 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and remained inaccessible for about 24 hours. Sony attributed the disruption to an "operational issue" and, in response, offered an additional five days of service to all PlayStation Plus members.
During this downtime, PlayStation gamers faced challenges accessing their games online, and even some single-player titles requiring server authentication or a constant internet connection were affected. The second beta of Monster Hunter Wilds, which had been eagerly anticipated, was among the games impacted, with its originally scheduled session from February 6 to February 9 cut short.
In response, Capcom has extended the next beta session by 24 hours. It will now run from February 13 at 7pm PT (February 14 at 3am GMT) through to February 17 at 6:59pm PT (February 18 at 2:59am GMT), rather than concluding on February 16 as previously planned. During this extended period, participants will still be eligible to earn the participation bonuses that will carry over to the full game, Capcom confirmed.
Despite the disruption, players were able to engage with the game's challenging new enemy, Arkveld, during the beta. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
