Alan Wake 2 developers want to become “Europe's Naughty Dog”

Remedy Entertainment aims to be a leading force in the gaming industry, drawing inspiration from Naughty Dog, particularly the Uncharted series. Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley, in a Behind The Voice podcast interview, stated their ambition to be "the European equivalent of this iconic firm."

This influence is evident in Quantum Break and, more notably, Alan Wake 2. The game's cinematic style, stunning visuals, and compelling narrative showcase this aspiration. Alan Wake 2's success has cemented Remedy's status as a top European studio.

Remedy's ambitions extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of cinematic single-player experiences, exemplified by Uncharted and The Last of Us (a historically acclaimed franchise), serves as a benchmark.

Even over a year after launch, Alan Wake 2 continues to receive updates. Recent enhancements include optimization for the PS5 Pro, introducing a "Balanced" graphics option that combines the best of Performance and Quality modes. These updates also address minor graphical issues for smoother framerates and clearer visuals, along with fixing bugs, particularly impacting the Lake House expansion.
