Despite being somewhat overshadowed by other titles, Halo Infinite continues to captivate its player base with regular content updates. The development team has recently unveiled an exciting new competitive game mode, S&D Extraction, designed to offer players a fresh and strategically deep experience.
Drawing inspiration from Valve's Counter-Strike, S&D Extraction introduces unique gameplay elements. In this mode, two teams of four players each engage in a thrilling tug-of-war. One team assumes the role of attackers, tasked with planting a device at a designated point, while the other team defends against this objective. After each round, the roles switch, adding an extra layer of strategy. To win, a team must secure victory in six rounds.
A significant feature of S&D Extraction is its comprehensive economic system. Players can use in-game currency, earned through completing objectives, to purchase equipment at the start of each round. The prices of these items are dynamic, fluctuating based on team and individual performance. All gear acquired vanishes at the end of the round, compelling players to make strategic decisions about spending and saving. The cost of items reflects their effectiveness and power potential within the round, with more potent gear naturally commanding higher prices. Early rounds will feature more affordable options, while mid-game and later rounds may offer increasingly expensive equipment for those who have saved their earnings. Additionally, players have the option to pay for a respawn after being eliminated, adding another layer of tactical decision-making.
Set to launch in 2025, S&D Extraction promises to deliver a dynamic and engaging competitive experience for Halo Infinite fans, ensuring the franchise remains a strong contender in the gaming world.
